In addition with the Man Book Prize held every year and the esteemed honour of being even shortlisted in it is a huge, huge complement to the author as well as its publisher.
Costa Book Awards is an annual literary award event which showcases English Language works of authors based in the UK and Ireland. Launched in 1971 as the Whitbread Literary Awards, they became the Whitbread Book Awards in 1985, with Costa taking over in 2006. The award ceremony takes place in London every January where the Book of the year as well as winners of 5 main categories, Poetry, First Novel, Novel, Biography and Children’s Fiction are announced.
